TMZ asked Jacksonville Jaguars TE Mercedes Lewis about the possibility of adding Tim Tebow to the roster during the offseason.

The Jacksonville Jaguars only won two games last season and are in DESPERATE need of help at quarterback, but tight end Marcedes Lewis wants no part of Tim Tebow.

Tebow's future with the New York Jets is tenuous at best and most experts think the team will send him packing this offseason. 

And while the GM of the Jags has already come out and said he doesn't see Tebow joining his hometown team, Lewis hammered the point home last night in Hollywood ... telling our photog, "We need a guy that's going to put us over the hump right now. Not a project."

It is certainly stating the obvious, and Tebow, who went to high school in Jacksonville, would certainly sell tickets, but Lewis is right. They need a top-tier quarterback, and that person is not on the roster. That person is also not Tim Tebow. 

We are just days away from the Super Bowl. What a contest it should be with the San Francisco 49ers taking on the Baltimore Ravens. Today, media is greeting the team, and it should make from some interesting, fun interview sessions, which can be seen all over television tonight, from ESPN and Fox Sports to late night talk shows.

The Seattle Seahawks' star defensive coordinator Gus Bradley is now the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. 

"Gus is who the Jaguars need now and in the future," general manager David Caldwell said in a statement released by the team Thursday.

Per NFL.com: 

Bradley spent the past four seasons running Seattle's defense and directed an aggressive unit that allowed just 15.3 points per game in 2012, tops in the NFL. The Seahawks did a strong job pressuring the quarterback and disrupting game plans all season, something we haven't seen much of from the Jaguars of late. Jacksonville finished 29th in the league in points allowed, giving up 27.8 points per game.

Bradley previously worked under Monte Kiffin with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In Seattle, Bradley favored a hybrid 4-3/3-4 scheme that switched fluidly from a conventional four-man front to an overloaded 3-4 alignment. Bottom line: The Seahawks were fun to watch on defense.

The hiring is something a surprise because multiple reports suggested the Jaguars were intent on chasing after San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman. With the 49ers still alive in the NFC playoffs, Roman has been off the grid, and the Jaguars made a move.

The Philadelphia Eagles showed interest in Bradley this week, but they pulled Oregon's Chip Kelly out of the wilderness Wednesday to become their next head coach. Teams looking for coaches have swayed heavily in favor of innovative, offensive-minded types like Kelly. The Jaguars -- under Caldwell -- have gone the other way.

He has agreed to terms and signed his contract and will look to revitalize the offense of the Jaguars, which struggled to move and put up points last season. 

Fisch used to be the QB coach of the Seattle Seahawks. 

Expect him to bring in a new QB with the struggles of Chad Henne and Blaine Gabbert. 

Well, this sure doesn't look good for coach Mike Mularkey. The Jaguars' assistant coaches have been given permission to talk to other teams. 

Per NFL.com: Citing a team source, NFL.com's Steve Wyche reported Friday that Jaguars assistant coaches have been cleared by the team to seek jobs with other NFL teams.

The Jaguars' miserable 2-14 season obviously has left Mularkey vulnerable. With his staff getting the go-ahead to find other work, something significant might have changed between Monday and now.

Big news. I've spoken to a certain assistant coach of the Jaguars who has already been linked to other jobs, but he tells me that the coaches are waiting to see if more decisions are made before really pursuing other opportunities. 

Well, the regular season has concluded. The Jaguars won just two games and own the second pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. With that, here is a look at the stats leaders...

All one needs to look at to see the weak offense is the rushing stats. Maurice Jones-Drew was the leading rusher, and he missed most of the season with an injury.

A bright spot was Cecil Shorts, who had 55 catches for 979 yards and seven touchdowns. 

Defensively, nobody had more than 3.5 sacks.

Easy to say that a defensive end will likely be the pick at the beginning of the first round.
